Statements and Positions on using the Archive Electronic Repository

The Centre for Disability Studies Archive is governed by a set of guidelines and policy positions that ensure the ethical, legal, and responsible use and preservation of these valuable archived materials. These guidelines address issues such as accessibility, copyright, user conduct, and fair dealing expectations. We encourage all users to familiarise themselves with these guidelines to ensure their use of the archive (referred to on this page as the Online Archive) aligns with our commitment to preserving and sharing these resources responsibly.

Accessibility Statement

The Centre for Disability Studies is committed to making its Online Archive materials accessible to all users. The Centre for Disability Studies strives to ensure that the Online Archive materials are usable by people with a wide range of access requirements, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and alternative input devices.

The Centre for Disability Studies is following accessibility guidelines, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), to make the Online Archive materials usable for disabled people.

The Centre for Disability Studies is continuously working to improve the accessibility of our Online Archive materials. This includes:

  • Regular accessibility audits: Conducting regular audits to identify and address accessibility issues.
  • User testing: Involving disabled people in the testing and evaluation of the Online Archive Collections.
  • Advice: Providing guidance to staff on accessibility best practices.

Despite best efforts, some accessibility issues may remain. The Centre for Disability Studies is committed to addressing these issues as they are identified.   • Mass distribution: Distributing copies of materials to a large audience without permission.

  • Misrepresenting the source: Misrepresenting the source or origin of the materials.
